The Galapagos Islands: a photo gallery

The Galapagos Islands have been on my bucket-list forever. And recently I was lucky enough to take this once-in-a-lifetime trip.

A thousand kilometres off the coast of Ecuador lie the volcanic islands of the Galapagos, famous for its abundance and wealth of unique plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.

The Galapagos Islands were the source of Darwin’s theory of evolution, and these islands and their waters have been called a ‘living museum and showcase of evolution’. Because of the islands’ isolation and remoteness, many of these species are found only in the Galapagos and have not changed much since prehistoric times.

The sheer number and diversity of animals is mind-blowing….I hope you enjoy the photos.
